In 1971 Bob Hines and Ron Poulter wrote: During our various exhibitions quite a number of visiting members have said "I'd like to build a G1 engine but I just don't know where to start". Bob and Ron went to describe the construction of an 0-6-0 live steam engine universally known as The Project. Many, many Project locos have been constructed, and a great variety of other 0-6-0 outline locos have been made which internally use the Project design. Ron and Bob's original slim text has gine through five major editions, and it is still our best selling book.
