G1MRA Spring Show

The 2026 event is now over. Details of the 2027 event will apppear here in due course.

The 2026 show (organised on behalf of G1MRA by the Midland Group) will be on Saturday 18 April from 10.00 to 16.00 at Statfold Barn, Statfold Country Park, Ashby Road, Tamworth B79 0BU.

Alongside our Gauge 1 activities, the Statfold attractions will be open including the new Fairground Museum. The 2′ gauge steam railway and the 12 1/4" light railway will both be in operation.

Statfold has agreed the discounted entry price of £10 for each G1MRA member and one accompanied guest.

This year's main track is Anglia Roads, courtesy of the East Anglia Group. This layout features two tracks mainly used for live steam, plus an additional circuit for on board battery powered models.

Running slots on any of these layout will be available by booking directly on the day: please bring something to run.

G1MRA fuel protocols will be in use. Liquid fuel will be provided but please bring your own gas, coal and water. As the event is open to the public live steam locomotives will require a current boiler certificate which must be available for inspection.

For anyone without a loco and wishing to have a try, the Midland Group's live steam 4F will be available for a run under the guidance of an experienced operator.
